Holi 2019 _ Festival Nails/Holi NailArt

Hello Lovelies,

Holi is a very popular Indian Festival and it's known world wide. Mostly people know it as a festival of colours but very few know the real story behind it. I have attempted to depict the mythological story behind this festival on my nails. This story is about Bhakta Prahalad who was a devotee of Lord Vishnu (The Protector) and his father Hiranyakashyapa who was a demon who forced his kingdom to worship him. Prahalad didn't listen to his commands as he only worshipped Vishnu, the real God. Hirayanakshyapa asked his sister Holika (Demon) to take Prahalad in her lap and sit in fire and challenged Vishnu to save his disciple Prahalad. As story tells Holika was burnt to ashes inspite of having a fireproof cloth. Every year on eve of Holi a bonfire is made representing the Holika . This story symbolizes that we need to burn the evil and negativity to welcome the colourful and joyful life. I hope you like my representation of Holi on my nails.

Also I was a part of this beautiful collaboration by the Indian nail community on Instagram and it was so much fun. You can check my insta post HERE for more pics from collaboration.

THANKS !!

Diwali Nailart 2015

Hello Lovelies,

Today is Deepawali also known as Diwali. It's an Indian festival celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm all over India. There is a mythological story behind this festival. Diwali falls 18 days after Dushera festival  (Dushera marks the demise of demon king Ravana by Lord Rama). It's said that Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya (his home) with his wife Goddess Sita and brother Lord Laxmana after 18 days so to welcome him Ayodhya was decorated with earthen lamps called diyas and people celebrated this day as Deepawali or Diwali which means festival of lights. It's biggest festival of Hindus and rituals extend to period of five days. There is another story that Goddess Laxmi was born during Diwali festival. She is Goddess of wealth and prosperity in Hindu religion so she is also worshipped during Diwali. Check out pictures below and enjoy the festivities :)...........

Diwali Nailart - Wishing All a Happy Diwali 2014

Hello friends,

Wish you a wonderful Diwali. Diwali is the festival of Lights and celebrated in the honour of Lord Rama returning to his home. This is a week long festival and different days have different ceremonies. Goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha are worshipped as this festival is also considered as start of Hindu's new year and Hindus pray for prosperity and good luck for coming new year.

This is my favourite festival. As a kid also I loved decorating my house with earthen lamps and helping my mother in making rangoli. I tried to recreate the same scene on my nails. Have a look

Hello Friends !
This October we are celebrating Indian Festivities with this Nail Challenge hosted by #stnchallenges and #ILLnailchallenges :)

Today's prompt is  Karwa Chauth ! This festival is celebrated by Hindu Married women for the safety and longevity of their husband. Wife keep fast from sunrise until sunset and prays in the evening for her husband. She breaks her fast after looking at moon following some rituals. This festival is symbol of love and closeness between husband and wife. I tried to show the essence of this festival on my nails where a woman is looking at moon through a seive. I am sure this will touch the heart of many Indian wives :) Let's have a look at my nailart :D
